Shipping FAQThe story
Maitreya Toad · Incense Burner
An illustrated character comes alive through a trail of smoke.
WUYIN × Zhaxiong
The inspiration
A toad sits on a lotus, holding a pipe. Taken from the artist’s illustration, this relaxed character becomes a sculpture in which incense smoke completes the gesture.
Form & function
MP Studio developed the resin figure from the illustration. WUYIN translated it into a metal incense burner and designed an internal smoke path, allowing incense to rise from the toad’s mouth.
About the collaborator
Zhaxiong draws playful, contemplative characters from animals and Chinese-inspired fantasy.
